TCU Wraps Up First Day at Texas A&M

Freshman Tommy Thach and sophomore Carlos Hunnicutt both garnered 11th-place finishes in the 200-yard IM finals at 1:49.73. That mark set a career-best for Thach. Junior John Remetta finished the race at 1:53.05, and senior Cameron Rattray finished at 1:53.16.
In the men's 500-yard freestyle finals, sophomore Connor Dobbs led the Horned Frogs, placing 14th with a time of 4:29.39. Freshman Leo Sanchez followed closely at 4:35.66. Freshman Rhorer Legendre rounded out the men's 500 free finals, clocking in with a season-best 4:36.88.
In the 50-yard freestyle finals, junior Garrett Hills placed 19th at 20.64. Freshman Jonathan Drewes also competed in the finals, clocking in at 20.88.
Preliminary events resume in College Station at 9:30 a.m. on Friday with final rounds to begin at 6 p.m. The morning session will feature the 50-meter long course (Olympic) and will change to 25 yards at night. By swimming two different lengths, TCU swimmers will be eligible to make Olympic trials or NCAA qualifying standards.
