TCU defensive end Tommy Blake has been named to the 2004 All-Freshman Team by CollegeFootballNews.com. Blake, a redshirt freshman, earned second team honors for his performance during the 2004 season in which he recorded 5.0 sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss among his 23 stops. He was the only Conference USA player recognized on the first or second team by CollegeFootballNews.com.
It is the fourth straight year in which TCU has had a player earn Freshman All-American recognition. Marvin Godbolt was honored during the 2001 season. In 2002, Lonta Hobbs earned that distinction, while last season Cory Rodgers, Herbert Taylor and Robert Merrill all earned Freshman All-America accolades.
