
TCU Swimming Rolls Over Austin College

TCU's swimming team claimed victory in every event it entered en route to a convincing win over in-state rival Austin College. The men notched their first victory of the season, 68-36, while the women collected their second-straight triumph, 90-60.
Andy Donovan (El Paso, Texas/Cathedral) led the Horned Frog men, capturing victory in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.62) and 200 breastroke (2:29.13). The wins were the first of the freshman's career.
For the Lady Frogs, sophomore Samara Schrimsher (Beaverton, Ore./Westview) notched a team-high two wins, claiming the 50- (:26.12) and 100-yard (:56.51) freestyle crowns. Her victories were also her first of the campaign.
TCU returns to action at 1 p.m. tomorrow afternoon versus Southwest Missouri State. The meet marks the last hurrah at the Rickel Center for the Horned Frogs' four seniors, Scott Adkins, Jamie MacCurdy, Josh Pipes and Marisa Schenke. Due to renvations at the Rickel Center, the competition versus the Bears will be the last of the season and of the four senior captains' distinguished home careers.
