Batey was the captain of the Collierville Track and Field team in 2018 and 2019, and has earned the Captain's award in 2017. He earned the Tough and Bad Award in 2016 after coming back from an injury, and has Team Academic Awards from 2016, 2017, and 2018. He was the Middle Distance Runner of the year in 2017 and 2018 and was a State Qualifier in 2016 and 2018. He holds the school record holder in the 4x800 and a State Medalist in 2018.
