Most decorated player in program history joins Ravaioli-Larkin's staff
FORT WORTH – The greatest player in TCU women's golf history is back in purple and white.
Angela Stanford, a four-time All-American from 1996-00 and TCU Lettermen's Association Hall of Fame inductee, is rejoining the Horned Frogs as an assistant coach.
Stanford lettered all four years under head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin before turning professional. She enjoyed one of the most accomplished careers of any player on the LPGA Tour before retiring in November of 2024.
From nearby Saginaw, Texas, Stanford was a seven-time winner on tour and claimed her first major title at the 2018 Evian Championship. She teed it up in 98 straight majors from 2002-24, the most consecutive major starts in LPGA Tour history and second only to Jack Nicklaus for the longest streak of major championship appearances in professional golf. Stanford most recently captained the 2026 U.S. Solheim Cup team in Bernardus, the Netherlands.

Stanford ascended as high as ninth in the Official World Golf Rankings at the height of her playing career. She posted 100 top-10 finishes, including 14 in major championships, across more than 500 starts in LGPA Tour events. Stanford played in six Solheim Cups, leading Team USA to victories in 2003, 2007 and 2016, and twice represented the United States in the Curtis Cup (2006, 2008).
Juxtaposed with her professional career, Stanford's accolades as a Horned Frog give her as accomplished a resume as any TCU athlete. She remains the only four-time All-American in the history of TCU golf and still holds the all-time records for career wins (10), rounds played (135), countable rounds (130), finishing percentage (.869). Her four medals as a senior in 1999-00, including the Western Athletic Conference championship, remain a school record.
In 2010, her first year of eligibility, Stanford was inducted into the TCU Letterman's Association Hall of Fame. She was selected to the Women's Golf Coaches Association Players Hall of Fame in 2017 and joined the Texas Golf Hall of Fame in 2020.
Stanford earned a bachelor's degree in speech communication from TCU in 2000. A lifelong Horned Frog, Stanford has made significant contributions to the TCU Annual Fund, TCU Frog Club and athletics facilities projects. She also established the Angela Stanford Foundation in 2009, which provides college scholarships to young adults whose families have been impacted by cancer.
