Horned Frogs Fill Up ITA Division I Men’s Preseason Rankings

One of three teams to produce a top-10 singles player, doubles pair and newcomer
FORT WORTH – Nearly every member of the 2026-27 TCU men's tennis roster will start the season with a national ranking.
The ITA Division I Men's Preseason Singles and Doubles Rankings, as well as the ITA Newcomer Rankings, were unveiled on Tuesday. Seven of TCU's nine players combined to earn a program record 11 sets of preseason national rankings. All seven Horned Frogs were featured in singles.
TCU was one of only three teams to produce a top-10 singles player, doubles pair and newcomer. The 11 total rankings were the third-most of any program nationwide.
Duncan Chan was tabbed No. 3 in the singles rankings. His preseason placement is the second-highest in program history behind only Cam Norrie, who was slotted No. 2 in 2016-17 in his final year in Fort Worth.
Chan, the reigning Big 12 Player of the Year, was one of two TCU players to garner a top-five individual ranking. The other Frog to achieve the feat was Jamie Mackenzie, who checked in at No. 4 in the ITA Newcomer Rankings.
In total, five players received at least one top-10 national ranking. Rising juniors Albert Pedrico and Cooper Woestendick received the No. 6 billing in doubles, their highest-ever as partners.
The colossal quantity of rankings carries significant value ahead of the ITA fall championships start. The preseason rankings are used to determine the singles and doubles draws for both the ITA All-American Championships and ITA Sectional Championships, two-of-three qualifying events for the NCAA Individual Championships.
All three of TCU's primary projected doubles pairs featured in the inaugural tables. Chan and Mackenzie, a freshman from Dusseldorf, Germany, got the nod at No. 35 while the all-sophomore pair of Oliver Bonding and Maximus Dussault were slotted 70th.
Woestendick was TCU's second highest-rated singles player at a career-high No. 21. Roger Pascual debuted with the No. 80 national ranking. Mackenzie and Bonding went back-to-back at No. 83 and No. 84 while Pedrico (No. 93) and Dussault (No. 111) rounded out the contingent.
