
Track Wins 17 Events at Horned Frog Invitational

FORT WORTH – TCU track and field wrapped up the regular season on Saturday at home, securing 17 event wins at the Horned Frog Invitational.
The Frogs were dominant in their final meet before the Big 12 Outdoor Conference Championship meet, defending their home track at the Lowen Track and Field Complex. Additionally, TCU also recognized 17 seniors and their contributions to the program during the meet.
The women's 5000m set the tone from the very first event. Jordan White led a quartet of Frogs across the finish line to start the day. Her time of 17:26.28 also marked a career best.
The success continued into the field events where Coulaj Eans won the long jump in his first appearance back from an injury. The junior jumped a solid 7.34m (24-1) to earn the victory. His teammate Ashvin Balaramana also earned an event win in the high jump, posting a season-best 2.10m (6-10 ¾) clearance, tied for the ninth best in program history. Brenna Williams kept things rolling, winning the hammer throw with a 44.96m (147-6) toss.
Back on the track, TCU swept the 1500m titles. Josey Whitaker (4:39.26) and Grant Martinez (4:39.26) brought home event wins. Tia Williams and Ronnie Kendrick followed with 400m wins of their own in 53.09 and 46.15, respectively.
In the sprints, Eans came back to complete the double, winning the 100m dash in 10.45, just under two-tenths faster than his teammate Justin Frater. Freshman Bailey Johnson won the 200m for the women with a career0best 23.26, and Colton Conyers raced his way to a 200m win for the men in 21,06.
