
Frogs Withstand Foul Trouble, Top Sun Devils 90-78

Robinson tied career high with 20 points
FORT WORTH – TCU withstood foul trouble and broke through in the second half to top Arizona State, 90-78, Tuesday night at Schollmaier Arena.
A total of 52 fouls were called, including 23 on the Horned Frogs. Three of TCU's starters were in foul trouble for nearly the entire game.
Xavier Edmonds was well on his way to ninth double-double as he scored 17 points and had six rebounds but logged just 17 minutes having picked up his fourth foul with 14:56 remaining.
David Punch had eight points and four rebounds and drew his fourth foul with 11:22 to play. Jayden Pierre played 13 minutes and fouled out with just under three minutes remaining after scoring five points.
TCU (18-10, 8-7) shot 32.4 percent from the field but still led 33-30 at halftime. Micah Robinson scored 17 of his career-high tying 20 points in the second half.
The Frogs, who shot 53.3 percent from the field in the second half, used a 20-4 run to capture their largest lead of the game, 69-50, with 8:03 remaining.
TCU won its fifth game in its last six opportunities by committing a season-low seven turnovers, outrebounding ASU, 40-34, and sinking 28 free throws. Brock Harding led TCU at the free throw line, making 8-of-11. The junior guard finished with 10 points and 11 assists for his second double-double of the season.
The Sun Devils (14-14, 5-10) were led by Maurice Odum who had 21 points and 10 assists.
TCU will next play at Kansas State for a 5:30 p.m. game on ESPN2.
