Horned Frog diver earns second conference weekly honor this season

FORT WORTH – David Ekdahl of the TCU swimming and diving team has been named the Big 12 Men's Diver of the Week, the conference announced Thursday.

The Malmö, Sweden, native swept the springboard events for TCU against Trinity (Texas), winning both the 1-meter (377.48) and 3-meter (381.98) with season-best scores and NCAA Zone qualifying marks.

This marks Ekdahl's second weekly Big 12 award this season and is the 10th of his illustrious career. The distinguished diver currently holds the school records on both 1-meter (419.80) and 3-meter (430.20).

Ekdahl and the Frogs will play host to Texas Permian Basin on Jan. 10. The meet will serve as this year's Senior Day, where numerous individuals on the squad will be honored.
