
Gray and Jepkemboi Win Event Titles at Penn Relays

Frogs conclude successful weekend in PA
PHILADELPHIA – TCU's Iyana Gray and Irene Jepkemboi earned event wins on the final day of the 129th Penn Relays, adding two more titles to the program's trophy case that includes 34 event wins at the historic meet.
Gray completed the three-peat, winning the college women's 100m dash championship for the third straight year. The senior, one of the top sprinters in school history, ran an 11.42 to win the race by two-hundredths of a second. She joins Olympians Randy Givens (Florida State, 1982-84) and Muna Lee (LSU, 2001-03) as the only collegiate athletes in the history of the meet to win three titles in the 100m dash.
In the women's javelin throw, Jepkemboi threw 56.46m (185-3) to win the college women's championship by over three meters. She joins teammate Maria Bienvenu, who won the event title last season as the only two Frogs to win the javelin throw.
Bienvenu also competed in the event, earning a third-place finish (46.04m), and Sydney Juszczyk finished 12th overall (42.06m). On the men's side, freshman Preston Kuznof, narrowly missed a spot on the podium. His throw of 62.70m (205-8) was good for fourth overall in his Penn Relays debut.
TCU also saw success on the track in relays. The women's 4x100m squad of Teanna Harlin, London Tucker, Bryce Brazzell and Gray earned a runner-up finish in 43.92, just behind Texas A&M (43.75) who ran down the Frogs in the final 20 meters.
The men earned a seventh-place finish in their 4x100m relay. Sanjay Salmon, Kashie Crockett, Jordan Parker and Coulaj Eans combined to run a 40.44. They came back later secured a sixth-place finish in the 4x400m relay as Ronnie Kendrick, Jayden Douglas, Destin Drummond and Lloyd Frilot posted a season-best time of 3:05.24 (28th nationally).
Alleah Krote wrapped up the meet for TCU, with a top 10 finish in the women's collegiate triple jump. The freshman out of Arlington Heights High School leaped 11.74m (38-6 ¼).
The Frogs are back at home to close out the regular season on May 3 with the TCU Horned Frog Invite.
