PHILADELPHIA – The women's 4x200m relay squad of Breanna Harlin, London Tucker, Bryce Brazzell, Iyana Gray won TCU track and field's 32nd event title in program history on Friday afternoon at the 129th Penn Relays.
The Horned Frogs, who have never won the 4x200m relay on the women's side, made history, defeating two-time defending champion South Florida. TCU was fairly even with the field through the first two exchanges, but on the third leg, Brazzell powered into the lead. Running the anchor leg, Gray brought home the victory, securing the win by a 10 meter margin in 1:33.04.
TCU also saw relay success with both the men's and women's 4x100m and 4x400m teams advancing to Saturday's finals where they will have more opportunities to compete for a prestigious relay title.
Individually, defending 100m champion Gray ran the fastest qualifying time, posting an 11.60 to punch her ticket to the final. Her teammate Mikayla Hayes also competed, finishing in 19th with a time of 12.07.
Amari Kiluvia also competed in the women's 100m hurdles. She placed 16th out of 29 athletes with a 13.81.
