No. 6 TCU competes as the No. 1 conference seed
YOUNGSVILLE, La. – No. 6 TCU (25-7) travels to Youngsville, La. for their first postseason showdown: the 2024 Conference USA Championships on April 25-27. The tournament will include a double-elimination bracket, along with a championship bracket. Each match will be played to decision.
The Horned Frogs will compete as the No. 1 seed in the tournament starting April 25 against the winner of Tarleton State vs. Jax State at 2:30 p.m. Ct. The championship match will begin at 11:00 a.m Saturday.
"We're really excited playing the conference championship matches that we've been really looking forward to and the girls are ready," Head Coach Hector Gutierriez said. "We understand it's a championship mentality now with the regular season over. We'll find out who we play tomorrow and take the rest of the tournament as it comes."

FROG FOCUS
In No. 6 TCU's first year in Conference USA the Horned Frogs are 4-0 against conference opponents. The Frogs are the only team in CUSA to have an undefeated conference record.
The Horned Frogs finished the regular season 25-7, with 10 ranked wins and eight sweeps under their belt. One of those sweeps included conference opponent UAB earlier this season on March 9.
The win of the Dragons was one of 12 home wins that TCU notched this season. Back in Fort Worth the Frogs ended their fourth consecutive undefeated home season, tallying a 53 match-win streak on the courts.
The team comes off a split 2-2 weekend at the Center of Effort Challenge. In San Luis Obispo, Cali. The Frogs downed then-No. 7 Long Beach State, 3-2, and garnered their eighth sweep of the season against Pepperdine.
In the third matchup of the season between the two teams TCU fell 5-0 to then-No. 2 USC. The Horned Frogs also fell to then-No. 6 Cal Poly, 4-1. The freshman duo Olivia Clines and Emma Glagau were the only pairing to score a point against the Mustangs.
This is TCU's first appearance at the CUSA Championships. Last year the Frogs were crowned 2023 CCSA Champions posting a 4-1 record from the tournament.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
The Horned Frogs have played four of the eight schools appearing in the tournament this season. TCU has beaten Tulane, FAU, FIU and UAB. The Horned Frogs hold the lead in the all-time matchup history against all schools competing.
No. 6 TCU is one of three teams ranked in the national Top 20, joining No. 14 FIU and No. 19 FAU.
Tarleton State (1-11) heads into the tournament as the No. 8 seed. The Texans have not played any conference opponents and post a 1-11 record on the season. If the Horned Frogs play Tarleton, it will be the first meeting between the two teams.
Jax State (0-10) travels as the No. 9 seed in the conference tournament. The Gamecocks have not played any conference opponents this season. The Horned Frogs lead in all-time matchup history 1-0.
Tulane (22-12) enters the tournament as the No. 5 seed. The Waves posted a 1-3 record against CUSA opponents this season. In all-time history, TCU holds a 8-4 lead over Tulane.
UAB (18-13) travels to Youngsville as the fourth seed. So far the Blazers have gone 2-3 in conference play. Against UAB, TCU is undefeated in all-time history tallying 11 wins over the Blazers.
UTEP (4-19) was selected as the sixth seed for the tournament. The Miners have not played any conference opponents so far this season. The Horned Frogs lead in all-time matchup history 1-0.
No. 19 FAU (16-17) travels as the No. 3 seed in the conference. The Owls have gone 2-4 against conference teams this season. In all-time history, TCU holds a 5-4 lead over FAU.
Missouri State (24-5) was selected as the seventh seed in the tournament. The Bears post a 0-1 conference record on the season. Against MSU, TCU is undefeated in all-time history, tallying four wins over the Bears.
No. 14 FIU (20-9) is the second seed in the tournament. The Golden Cougars hold a 4-1 record against conference opponents so far this season. The Horned Frogs lead in all-time matchup history 7-2.
