No. 6 TCU Defeats Saint Mary’s and UC Davis

The Horned Frogs end the Battle of The Bay 3-1
STANFORD, Calif. – No. 6 TCU ended the Battle of The Bay with a 2-0 performance on Saturday. The Horned Frogs earned their sixth win of the season over Saint Mary's (3-2) and seventh after sweeping UC Davis.
Individually, two Horned Frogs had a perfect 4-0 weekend: Hailey Hamlett and Anhelina Khmil.
"It was a good weekend overall considering the weather conditions," head coach Hector Gutierrez said. "We showed a great battle against Stanford but we couldn't pull it out at the end. The girls played hard all weekend which is always positive.
QUICK HITS AGAINST SAINT MARY'S
• Emma Glagau and Anna Vergara recorded the first point for the Horned Frogs from the No. 4 position, 21-15, 21-17.
• The duo improved to 3-1 as a pairing and 3-1 at the No. 4 position.
• Anete Namike and Tara Patton fell to Saint Mary's Couch/Harrer in three sets, 21-9, 12-21, 12-15.
• Sutton MacTavish and Alex Parkhurst recorded the second point for TCU at No. 3, 21-15, 21-12.
• The duo improved to 3-0 on the season at the No. 3 position.
• Hailey Hamlett and Anhelina Khmil continued their dominant start to the season as the pair picked up the third point for the Frogs from the No. 1 position, 21-12, 21-6.
• The duo improved to 7-0 together this season, all at the No. 1 spot.
• It was Hamlett and Khmil's second match-clinching point of the weekend.
• Keagan Polk and Morgan Williams dropped the match to Saint Mary's Crump/Paola, 18-21, 21-18, 15-17.

• Luana Araco and Anete Namike secured the sweep for TCU from the No. 3 position, 18-21, 21-18, 15-9.

• This is TCU's fourth sweep of the season and their first sweep over UC Davis.
• In all-time history with the Aggies, the Horned Frog's improved their lead 3-0.

No. 6 TCU travels back to Fort Worth for the first home matches of the season on March 8. The Horned Frogs will host the Horned Frog Challenge (March 8-9), starting their weekend against SFA at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the TCU Beach Volleyball Courts.
