TCU makes their home debut as No. 1
FORT WORTH – No. 1 TCU beach volleyball (8-0) is set to host its first home tournament of the season, the Horned Frog Challenge, which will take place this weekend, March 10-11. The Horned Frogs will face off against Texas A&M-Kingsville, Southern Miss and No. 4 LSU.

FROG FOCUS
The Horned Frogs return to Fort Worth as the No. 1 team in the nation for the first time in program history.
TCU has been perfect at home each of the last two seasons going 13-0 (2022) and 12-0 (2021). The Frogs are currently riding a 28-match win streak at home dating back to March 6, 2020.
Coming off a perfect 4-0 showing at the Tampa Tournament in Tampa, Fla., TCU secured their first two ranked wins of the season against No. 10 Georgia State and No. 2 Florida State. Along the way, the Frogs won 40 out of 43 sets played over weekend.
TCU's No. 1 pairing of Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno were named CCSA Pair of the Week (Mar. 8) for their stellar performance in the Tampa Tournament. It marked the fourth time the pairing has been honored by the CCSA.
Three other Frogs join Alvarez and Moreno in delivering perfect 4-0 weekends: Maria Gonzalez, Hailey Hamlett and Rochelle Scott.
The win 4-1 against the Seminoles, who were previously ranked No. 2, propelled TCU to the top spot in the rankings. It was the fourth win TCU has collected over the Seminoles and the first win against a conference opponent this season.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Texas A&M-Kingsville (4-3) is coming off a 0-2 weekend in Nacogdoches, Texas where it competed in the Stephen F. Austin Tournament. The Javelinas dropped contests to Tulane (5-0) and Stephen F. Austin (3-2). TAMUK has yet to face a ranked opponent this season.
No. 4 LSU (9-0) heads to Fort Worth after a perfect home showing at the Tiger Beach Challenge that took place March 4-5. The Tigers swept UAB, Tusculum, North Alabama and Southeastern Louisiana all by identical 5-0 scores. LSU also knocked off their first ranked opponent of the season, No. 19 South Carolina, 4-1. The last matchup between TCU and LSU was in the elimination round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament when the Tigers knocked out the Horned Frogs, 3-2.
Southern Miss (6-3) travels to TCU after a 1-3 weekend in Boca Raton, Fla. The Golden Eagles fell to Palm Beach Atlantic (4-1), TAMUCC, (3-2), and No. 13 FAU (5-0). The Golden Eagles swept Saint Leo, 5-0, for their sole victory of the weekend. Southern Miss is 0-1 against ranked opponents this season.
