Horned Frogs set program record for most wins in a single season at 28

LOS ANGELES -- No. 2 TCU beach volleyball (28-0) remains the only undefeated team in the nation after defeating No. 1 UCLA, for the second time this week, and No. 5 LMU to kick off the first day of the UCLA Beach Invitational. For the first time this season, TCU downed two top 5 opponents in the same day, taking down both No. 5 LMU and No. 1 UCLA, 3-2.

The Frogs 28^th win sets a new program for most wins in a single season. The old program record was set last season at 26 which they beat with today's two victories.

TCU notched their 5^th Top 5 win of the season, the most in program history. The Horned Frogs have achieved 15 ranked wins so far this season, smashing last year's program record of 10. The Frogs are totaling 15 wins vs. Top 20, 11 vs. Top 10 and five vs. Top 5 opponents.

Three Horned Frogs delivered a perfect, 2-0, day: Sutton MacTavish, Rochelle Scott, and Megan Muret. All three Frogs managed to take straight set victories over their ranked opponents.

QUICK HITS AGAINST No. 5 LMU:

After losing the first point of the dual to LMU, Sutton and Hailey took the second point of the match for the Frogs in a straight set victory: 21-11, 21-16.
The No. 2's notched their 8^th winning as partners.
MacTavish claimed her 20^th win of the season, Hamlett her 15^th.
Filippone and Brockett scored the second consecutive point for TCU, breaking the tie, from the No. 3 position: 21-14, 21-17.
The pairing improved to 12-4 as partners.
They notched their 4^th ranked win as partners.
Muret and Scott clinched the Horned Frog victory from the No. 5 position: 21-16, 21-19.
Riding a now 13-game winning streak, the highest on the team, the pairing was able to secure their 21^st win as partners.
Leading the team in ranked wins, the pairing notched their 13^th of the season.
The Horned Frogs secured their 4^th top 5 win of the season, the most in program history.
All TCU points came in straight-set victories for the Frogs.
This is the first time since 2019 that the Frogs met up with the Lions.
The Horned Frogs are currently on a two-game winning streak against LMU and remain leading the series 3-1.

QUICK HITS AGAINST No. 1 UCLA:

MacTavish, switching up partners, teamed up with McHugh to score the first point of the dual for the second time today from the No. 2 position: 23-21, 21-17.
The duo improved their seasonal record to 11-3, with every win coming in straight sets.
MacTavish notches her 21^st win of the season, McHugh her 12^th.
Gonzalez and Vergara scored the second consecutive point for the Frogs in a two-set victory: 21-14, 22-20.
The 4s secured their 19^th win of the season.
They improved to 12-3 in ranked matchups.
Muret and Scott clinched the victory over the Bruins in a straight set victory from No. 5: 22-20, 21-18.
The pairing claimed their 22^nd victory together.
Muret improved her seasonal record to 25-1, Scott to 24-1.
The Frogs notched their second consecutive victory over the Bruins. TCU, riding a two-match win streak, improved the series to 2-3 for the Frogs.

TCU opens the second day of the UCLA Beach Invitational against No. 3 USC at 11:30 a.m. The Frogs only match of the day will be against the Trojans. The last time TCU went toe-to-to-toe against USC was back in 2019 when the Frogs suffered at 0-5 defeat.
