The Horned Frogs will face five Top 10 opponents this weekend.
FORT WORTH -- No. 2 TCU beach volleyball (24-0) travels to Los Angeles, California for a weekend of duals. On Thursday, The Horned Frogs will participate in the Mapes Beach Invitational where they are set to take on No. 9 Hawaii and No. 1 UCLA. Saturday begins the UCLA invitational where TCU will spend the weekend toe-to-toe against Top 5 opponents: No. 5 Loyola Marymount, No. 1 UCLA and No. 3 USC.

FROG FOCUS
The Horned Frogs enter the weekend the best record in program history (24-0). They are one of two undefeated teams remaining in the country, alongside UCLA. TCU is coming off another stellar showing on the road at the LSU Beach Invitational last weekend. TCU defeated Louisiana Monroe, 5-0, No. 4 FSU, 4-1 and Houston Baptist, 4-1, on Saturday. On Sunday, the Frogs took down Tampa, 5-0 and No. 6 LSU, 4-1.
TCU has showcased steady pairings from the No. 1, No. 4 and No. 5 positions. All three pairings, Daniela Alvarez/Tania Moreno, Maria Gonzalez/Ana Vergara and Megan Muret/Rochelle Scott took victories over the conference's toughest competitors No. 4 FSU and No. 6 LSU last weekend.
No. 1's Alvarez and Moreno, 22-1, are currently riding at 15-game winning streak which includes victories over five top-10 ranked opponents. Throughout the streak, the duo hasn't dropped a set (32-0). The pairing was awarded CCSA Pairing of the Week for the second time this season, third on their career.
No. 4's Gonzalez and Vergara are 17-1 so far this season. The pairing went 4-0 on the weekend took two three-set victories against No. 4 FSU and No. 6 LSU. Three set matches are nothing foreign to this duo as they remain nearly unbeatable in the effort, 7-1.
No. 5's Muret and Scott were the only Frog pairing to play and win all five match's last weekend. The duo is 18-1 on the season, playing all but one match from the No. 5 position. The pairing has taken 10 ranked victories out of the 11 ranked opponents faced this season.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
No. 9 Hawaii, 15-6, hails to Los Angeles from the Big West Challenge in Long Beach California. The 'Bows went 5-6 on the weekend taking victories against CSUN, CSU Bakersfield, Long Beach State, Sacramento State and Cal Poly. Their sole loss of the weekend came from a Friday defeat to UC Davis, 2-3. The last time Hawaii met up with TCU was for the Outrigger Queens cup earlier this season when the Frogs beat the 'Bows for the first time in program history. Hawaii leads the series, 5-1.
No. 1 UCLA, 18-0, hosts their second tournament of the season. The Bruins are coming off a perfect showing at the Pac-12 South Invitational in Tucson, Arizona. UCLA took victories over Utah, No. 8 Stanford and No. 17 Arizona. The Bruins remain undefeated this season, taking fourteen ranked wins so far. The last time the Horned Frogs met up with the Bruins was during the first round of the NCAA Championships last season. UCLA leads TCU 3-0 in meetups.
No. 5 LMU, 18-1, travels to Manhattan Beach, California after spending the past weekend in Santa Cruz, California for the West Coast Conference Challenge. The Lions took four 5-0 victories against University of Portland, Santa Clara University, Saint Mary's College and No. 16 Pepperdine. Their sole loss of the season comes from No. 6 LSU in the Tiger Beach Challenge earlier this month. The last time the Horned Frogs met up with the Lions was in 2019 resulting in a 3-2 victory for the Frogs. TCU currently leads the series, 2-1.
No. 3 USC, 15-1, comes from the Pac-12 South Invitational in Tucson, Arizona riding a 3-0 weekend. The Trojans defeated Utah, Arizona State, and Washington. Their sole loss comes from No. 2 UCLA at the Battle for L.A. Invitational earlier this month. The Horned Frogs have never beaten the Trojans in program history. USC leads the series 4-0 with every victory being won 5-0.
