The Horned Frogs look to extend their 24-home match winning streak
FORT WORTH -- No. 2 TCU beach volleyball (32-2) returns home to host their third tournament of the season, the TCU Invitational, on Friday and Saturday.
The Horned Frogs will go toe-to-toe against four opponents, two of them nationally ranked: Missouri State, No. 9 Stanford, No. 16 Pepperdine and Houston Baptist.

Following Saturday's final match against HBU at 3:30 p.m., TCU will recognize its six seniors: Hayley Boll, Hailey Brockett, Alexis Filippone, Kaylie McHugh, Megan Muret and Caroline White.
The Horned Frogs enter the weekend off a 3-1 showing at the Unconquered Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla. TCU faced five opponents, four of them nationally ranked, in one of their toughest weekends of the season. The Frogs took victories over No. 19 Stetson, No. 15 Florida International, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and No. 5 LSU. Their sole loss of the weekend came against No. 4 Florida State, 4-1.
TCU is perfect, 9-0, at home this season and currently on a 24-match home winning streak dating back to the 2020 season (March 6, 2020). In the past two home tournaments this season, TCU claimed nine victories, four of them over ranked opponents, No. 16 Stetson, No. 18 South Carolina, No. 19 Georgia State and No. 3 Florida State.
The Horned Frogs will take on Houston Baptist this weekend for the Frogs' fourth in-state match of the season. TCU is 27-0 all-time against schools from the state of Texas and became the first Beach Volleyball program from Texas in NCAA history to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Maria Gonzalez and Ana Vergara continued their stellar season, winning all five of their matches last weekend. Four out of their five victories were taken in straight sets for an average margin of victory of 6.3 points on the weekend. They total 16 ranked victories, the second most by any pairing this season (behind Megan Muret/Rochelle Scott), with a seasonal record of 24-4.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Missouri State, 12-10, heads to Fort Worth after a day of dual matches at home. The Beach Bears went 2-0 on the day, taking a 3-2 victory over Hendrix College and a 5-0 sweep over Ottawa. TCU is the second ranked opponent that Missouri State will meet up with this season. The last time the Horned Frogs went toe-to-toe against the Beach Bears was in 2020. TCU leads the all-time series 2-0.
No. 9 Stanford, 17-7, travels to TCU after a 3-1 weekend at home. The Cardinal took victories over Washington, No. 17 Arizona and No. 12 California after falling to No. 1 USC. This is second time in program history that TCU is meeting up with Stanford. The last time the teams went head-to-head was in 2017, resulting in a 3-2 victory for the Frogs.
No. 16 Pepperdine, 17-8, comes to Fort Worth after a weekend of dual matches in California. The Waves fell to Long Beach State, 4-1, on Thursday and took a 5-0 victory over Cal State Northridge on Saturday. This is the first time since 2019 that TCU is meeting up with Pepperdine. The Horned Frogs have never beaten the Waves. Pepperdine leads the all-time series 5-0.
HBU, 10-17, journeys from Houston after a day of home duals. The Huskies took a 3-2 victory over Steven F. Austin then fell shortly thereafter to Texas A&M-Kingsville, 4-1. This is the second time this season that HBU will go toe-to-toe against the Frogs. TCU leads the series 9-0.
