The Horned Frogs secure No. 1 seed in tournament playoff

MANOA, Hawaii -- No. 3 TCU Beach Volleyball (13-0) stayed unbeaten with a pair of 4-1 victories on day two of the Outrigger Queen's Cup in Manoa, Hawaii. The Horned Frogs took down UC Davis and No. 9 Hawaii to extend TCU's program-record win streak to 13. TCU has defeated four Top 10 opponents this season.

The Horned Frogs have earned the No. 1 seed in the Outrigger Queen's Cup Playoffs tomorrow. They will play the winner of No. 4 UC Davis vs. No. 5 Nebraska in the semifinal match at 4 p.m. CT.

Playoff Schedule
Quarterfinals: No. 5 Nebraska vs. No. 4 UC Davis, 12 p.m.
Semifinals: No. 2 Hawaii vs. No. 3 Cal, 2 p.m.
Semifinals: No. 1 TCU vs. Nebraska/UC Davis winner, 4 p.m.
Third Place Match: 6 p.m.
Championship Match: 8 p.m.

Two Frogs have delivered perfect 4-0 weekends: Daniela Alvarez / Tania Moreno and Sutton MacTavish / Kaylie McHugh.

The Horned Frogs are 8-0 against ranked teams so far, just two shy of the program record set last season.

QUICK HITS AGAINST UC Davis:

MacTavish and McHugh scored the first point of the day, winning in two sets on court two: 21-11, 21-17.
It was their third win in a row, all in straight sets.
Alvarez and Moreno won the next match in two sets at the No. 1 position: 21-10, 21-16.
They improve to 11-1 together this season and their career record together to 37-10.
Rochelle Scott and Trinity Cavanaugh clinched the match for the Frogs in a two-set victory at No. 5: 21-13, 21-11.
This is the duos first appearance and victory as a pairing this season.
Scott improves to 9-0 this season, Cavanaugh 2-0.
Peyton Yamagata Hailey Brockett scored the final point for TCU in a two-set victory at No. 3: 21-14, 21-11.
This is the pairings first appearance and victory as a pairing.
Yamagata improves to 5-0, Brockett 6-3.
This is the first meetup between the Horned Frogs and Aggies in program history.

QUICK HITS AGAINST No. 9 Hawaii:

MacTavish and McHugh scored the first point once again, winning in two sets at No. 2: 21-18, 21-17.
The duo improves to 4-2 as a pairing and notches their second ranked win together.
MacTavish/McHugh won the first point in all four TCU matches this weekend. They are 4-0 together this weekend.
Maria Gonzalez and Ana Vergara won the next match in two sets at the No. 4 position: 21-19, 21-17.
The duo remains undefeated with a perfect 8-0 record.
This was their third straight set win together.
Alexis Filippone and Hailey Brockett clinched the victory in a three-set victory at No. 3: 21-16, 18-21, 15-10.
The pairing improves to 3-2 on the season.
Alvarez and Moreno scored the final point for the Frogs in two sets at No 1: 21-13, 22-20.
The duo notches their 12^th victory as a pairing and 7^th against ranked opponents.
The last time TCU met up with Hawaii was in 2019. This is the first win in program history against Hawaii.
