Three Divers Qualify for 2022 Winter Nationals

Kwong, Burman and Ekdahl headed to West Virginia
FORT WORTH -- TCU Dive is sending three divers to the 2022 USA Diving Winter Nationals. Anna Kwong and David Ekdahl and Max Burman will compete from Dec. 15-Dec. 18 at Mylan Park Aquatic Center in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Burman and Ekdahl will compete together in the men's 3-meter synchronized event as well as 1-meter and 3-meter boards individually. Kwong will dive on the 1-meter and 3-meter.
The three divers have combined for six Big 12 weekly awards thus far this season. Burman has won both Newcomer of the Week and Men's Diver of the Week. Ekdahl and Kwong each won two Diver of the Week awards earlier this year.
Coming off a historic performance in 2021-22, David Ekdahl continues to impress this year with multiple Zone cuts and two school records on 1-meter (398.55) and 3-meter as well (430.20). Last year, Ekdahl competed at the FINA World Junior Diving Championships where he placed third in the mixed-team event. He finished ninth on 1-meter with a score of 415.35.
While securing multiple Zone cuts this season, Kwong has set a new school record on 1-meter (324.65). She has also made her way into the top three on 3-meter this season (357.90).
Burman has made an immediate impact with the Frogs in his first season. The gr. senior is featured in the top 3 on both the 1-meter and 3-meter top 10 records in TCU history. He is second all-time on the 3-meter (404.45) and third on the 1-meter (355.20).
