
Morris Qualifies for NCAA Championships

She places second overall at NCAA South Central Regional
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Gracie Morris finished second overall at the NCAA South Central Regional on Friday morning, earning her an automatic bid to the NCAA Cross Country Championships. With her second-place finish, she recorded the highest individual finish for TCU ever on the women's side at the South Central Regional since 2003 when Mary Kinyanjui won the meet.
She found herself in 13th after the 2K split, but continued to pass runners throughout the race. She was in fifth at the 4.1K split and crossed the finish line with her second-place time of 20:17.1. She is the first TCU runner to qualify for the NCAA Championships since Brenley Goertzen in 2016.
Coming in second for TCU on the women's side was Elena Viejo. She placed 58th with her time of 22:01.7. The women's team finished 11th overall.
On the men's side, Stone Burke led the way for the Horned Frogs. He placed 53rd overall with his time of 32:34.7. Coming in second for TCU was Noah Winters with his time of 32:56.0. The men's team finished 17th overall.
