Horned Frogs Win Fifth-Straight, Beat Aggies 68-64

O'Bannon leads TCU with 18 points as the Frogs improve to 8-1
HOUSTON - Chuck O'Bannon Jr. tied a career high with 18 points as TCU toughed out a 68-64 win over Texas A&M Saturday evening at Toyota Center in Houston in The Battleground 2k21.
Along with O'Bannon, the Horned Frogs (8-1) got a double-double from Eddie Lampkin Jr. with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Houston native. Playing against his former team, Emanuel Miller scored 13 points, 11 in the second half. Mike Miles Jr. also had a big second half with all 12 of his points coming then.
After TCU led 33-23 at halftime, Texas A&M (7-2) opened the second half on a 14-4 run to tie the game 37-37 with 13 minutes to play. The Aggies took their first lead since the beginning of the game with 12:48 to play, the first of six lead changes in six minutes. Back-to-back 3-pointers by O'Bannon and Miles gave TCU a four-point lead, 55-51, with 5:41 to play.
The Frogs just made two more field goals the remainder of the game, but made 9-of-10 free throws in the final 1:17 of the game to hold off the late comeback attempt by the Aggies.
Damion Baugh went 4-of-4 from the line in the final 25 seconds. He finished with nine points, four assists and a career-high eight rebounds.
TCU will be back in action next Saturday, Dec. 18 at Georgetown in the Big EAST/Big 12 Battle. Tip-off is at 1 p.m. CT on FS1.
