
Silins Breaks School Record in Austin

AUSTIN, Texas — Janis Silins broke TCU's 100 breast school record on Friday night at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center, swimming a 52.71.
School Record
Silins bested his own previous 100 breast record, collecting his sixth NCAA B cut in as many races. The sophomore finished third in the race.
NCAA B Cuts
Fellow sophomore Piotr Sadlowski notched his second NCAA B cut of the season in the 100 fly. TCU's Polish pistol swam a 47.27 en route to a fifth-place finish.
Top-10 Times
Charles Millette dropped his 400 IM time from prelims to 3:55.17, improving his No. 8 mark on TCU's all-time records.
Team captain Kevin Chao joined Millette in the 400 IM record books at No. 10, winning the 'B' final with a time of 3:56.80.
The men's 200 free relay (Noah Cumby, Sadlowski, Jackson Boersma, Stefan Varga) moved up to No. 4 on TCU's program records, tying a Horned Frog relay from 2009. The 2009 squad of Laszlo Gyurko, Jack Doran, Josh Schifferer and Josh Bagby finished in third place for bronze at the Mountain West Conference Championship.
Next Up
Saturday is the final day of the Texas Hall of Fame Swimming Invitational. The 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 1650 free and 400 free relays will conclude the competition.
