Frogs Record Multiple Program Top-10 Times in Austin

AUSTIN, Texas — TCU finished day two of the Texas Hall of Fame Swimming Invitational on Thursday night with multiple program top-10 times.
NCAA B Cut
Ashleen O'Brien continues to chase Maddie Ibrahim's 100 back school record. The sophomore swam a 53.84, just .01 seconds off the school record, on the leadoff leg of TCU's 400 medley 'B' relay. She notched an NCAA B cut and maintains her No. 2 spot in school history. Earlier this season at SMU, O'Brien registered a 54.52.
Top-10 Times
Kiki Rice's 2:01.58 in the 200 IM placed second and moved her up from sixth to fourth on TCU's all-time list.
Stefan Varga moved up to No. 6 all-time (47.98) in the 100 back as TCU's leadoff leg on the men's 400 medley 'A' relay. The freshman also obtained the No. 10 spot in TCU's 50 free record book after swimming a 20.39 and winning the "B" final.
TCU's men's 400 medley relay (Varga, Janis Silins, Piotr Sadlowski, Noah Cumby) also produced the third fastest time (3:12.09) in school history.
Cumby broke into TCU's 50 free record book with a 20.19 in prelims. The junior followed up that performance with a sixth-place finish in the 'A' final, placing eighth.
Katelyn Kenchel also entered TCU's 50 free record at No. 10 after placing sixth in the 'A' final (23.36).
A Finals
Three Frogs qualified for the 200 IM 'A' finals. Dusan Babic led the trio with a sixth-place finish (1:49.38). His 1:49.04 in prelims bumped him up one spot to No. 6 in TCU's records. Silins and Charles Millette followed behind in seventh and eighth, respectively.
Another trio of Horned Frogs swam in the 500 free finals on the women's side. Cayla Prophater, Audrey McMurry and Sally Clough all represented the Frogs, finishing 6-7-8.
Next Up
The Texas Hall of Fame Swimming Invitational continues tomorrow with prelims starting at 10 a.m. and finals beginning at 6 p.m. Friday's events include: 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back and 200 free relays.
