Swim & Dive Concludes Day One in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio – TCU swimming and diving began competition at the 2019 CSCAA National Invitational Championship on Thursday. After day one, the men's team is fourth in the team standings while the women sit at 13th.
"A" FINALS
TCU had several athletes on both the men's and women's teams reach the "A" finals of their respective events. Senior Micaela Roemer was the highest finisher on the day for the Horned Frogs, finishing fourth in the 50 fly with a 24.23 mark. Fellow senior Maddie Ibrahim placed seventh in the 50 back finals with a time of 25.35.
After setting personal-bests at the Big 12 Championships two weeks ago, Brendan Barry and Dayne Odendaal dropped their times again in their respective events. In the men's 500 free, Barry finished in 4:27.26 for seventh-place, while Odendaal recorded a time of 1:48.16 in the men's 200 IM.
In the men's 50 back, Joao Andrade produced a seventh-place time of 22.83.
A pair of freshmen represented TCU in the men's 50 free finals. Jackson Boersma finished seventh (20.47), while Reed Dittlinger finished 10th (20.99). In the men's 50 fly, fellow freshman Noah Cumby placed tenth with a personal-best 22.46.
TCU's men's 200 free relay also had a strong showing. The tandem of Dittlinger, Boersma, Andrade, and Cumby finished in 1:21.35 for seventh-place.
