
Ibrahim, 400 Medley Relay Break School Records

AUSTIN, Texas – TCU swimming and diving continued competition at the Big 12 Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday. On day two, TCU's women's 400 medley relay set the school record with Maddie Ibrahim breaking the 100 back school record on the lead off.
SCHOOL RECORDS
In the women's 400 medley relay, the tandem of Ibrahim, Lauren Halliburton, Micaela Roemer, and Claire Munster dropped the TCU record to 3:39.69 with a fourth-place finish. Ibrahim, Roemer, Munster made up for three legs of the previous school record, set at last year's Big 12 Championships.
Leading off in the 100 back, Ibrahim broke her own school record with a time of 53.83. Ibrahim's best times from 2019, 2018, and 2017 rank first, second, and third respectively in TCU history.
CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS
Freshman Jackson Boersma was the highest individual finisher for TCU on the day, placing fifth in the men's 50 free championship finals with a season-best 20.12. His time ranks No.4 in program history.
Prior to breaking the school record in the 400 medley relay, Munster and Roemer reached the championship finals in the women's 50 free where they finished sixth and eighth respectively. Munster's time of 23.13 moves her to No.4 in TCU history while Roemer's time of 23.17 ties her for the No.5 spot.
Katelyn Kenchel added a seventh-place finish for TCU in the women's 200 IM, finishing in 2:03.05. In the men's 200 IM, Dayne Odendaal also finished seventh with a time of 1:48.63.
In the men's 500 free, TCU had a pair of Horned Frogs reach the championship finals. Joao Andrade and Brendan Barry finished seventh and eighth respectively for TCU.
ON THE BOARDS
In the women's one-meter dive, Isabella Ashdown reached the championship finals where she finished sixth with a score of 290.40.

DAY THREE
Friday will feature a multitude of events, including the three-meter dive, the 100 fly, 400 IM, 200 free, 10 breast, 100 back, and the 200 free relay. Swimming prelims are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with finals to start at 6 p.m. The women's three-meter prelims will start at noon with the men to follow at 2:30 p.m.
