Brian and Waggle earn weekly honors
FORT WORTH – Gracie Brian from women's soccer and Ashley Waggle from volleyball have been named TCU's Student-Athletes of the Week presented by Cram Crew.
Brian, a freshman from Frisco, Texas, scored both goals and helped lead the Frogs to a 2-1 victory over Iowa State last weekend. Her goal in the 73rd minute of the contest was her fourth game-winning goal of the season. The midfielder leads the team with eight goals this season and is tied for the lead with 19 points.
Brian and the women's soccer team are back in action when they host Baylor on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Waggle, a junior from Dripping Springs, Texas, helped lead TCU to its first Big 12 win of the season, defeating Texas Tech in five sets last weekend. She notched two key kills in the final set of the match, tying the score at 14 before the Frogs pulled away. Waggle set a career-high in kills for the second time in her last three matches, finishing with 19.
Waggle and the volleyball team look to upset the top team in the nation when they host Baylor on Saturday at 1 p.m. The match will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest Plus.
