Mazzoli, a junior from Montorfano, Italy, picked up the second tournament win of his career last week at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C. Mazzoli shot rounds of 70, 71, and 65 and finished at 10-under. His third round was the third 7-under 65 of his career and set a course record at the Wexford Plantation Golf Course. Mazzoli ranks second in TCU history with three 7-under rounds.
Mazzoli and the men's golf team is currently competing at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas, Nev.
Okonkwo, a junior from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., led the Frogs with 21 points and nine rebounds in a 90-83 win over Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship quarterfinals. She scored TCU's final 14 points of the first quarter, helping the Frogs advance to their first Big 12 championship semifinal. Okonkwo was 9-of-13 from the field, including three 3-pointers, in what was her eighth 20-point game this season.
The junior earned the Big 12's Sixth Man Award earlier in the week and is TCU's leading scorer at 15.5 points per game this season. She has helped TCU to a 19-12 record with the 19 wins being the most for the Frogs since joining the Big 12. Eight of TCU's losses have come to ranked teams, including five against top-10 teams.
