
TCU Tops Baylor to Close Big 12 Meet

TCU (8-8) finished the meet in second place as No. 3 Oklahoma State clinched the Big 12 title with a win over Baylor (5-8) on Saturday afternoon.
The Rundown
The Frogs came out with winning on their mind, taking a 7-3 after half the match was completed on Friday evening when the two competed in Horsemanship and Equitation on the Flat.
In Horsemanship, TCU came out on top, 4-1. Cydney Benes, Laska Anderson, Josie Mootz and Jamie Cook all earned their points for the Frogs.
On the Flat, seniors Jayme Omand, Mady Fithian, and Carley Barnett earned TCU's next three points against the Bears. Fithian had a 156-134 decision against Madison Day, a win by a 22-point margin.
On Saturday, TCU took a lead early with a 4-1 decision in Fences. Jayme Omand, Raegan Rast, Carley Barnett and Alex Beneson all earned their points for TCU, with Rast winning by a margin of 20. She went 152-132 against Baylor's Gabby Conte.
In Reining, the Frogs only earned a point from Claire Dittrich, 148.5-143 in a reride with Sydney Scheckel, but the Frogs had already built a comfortable cushion.

The Frogs will return to practice after the conclusion of the Big 12 Championship to prepare for the NCEA Championship, which starts on Wednesday, April 18, and concludes on Saturday, April 21.
