Dennison, a freshman libero from Huntington Beach, California, made a real name for herself in last weekend's tournament when she secured a spot on the all-tournament team after TCU won the Cowtown Classic title. The next day, she recorded 20 digs during the team's sweep of Rice. Dennison finished the weekend with 50 digs.
Deaton, an outside hitter from Waco, Texas, is another freshman who is already proving herself on the court early on this season. Not only did she make the all-tournament team as well, Deaton led the Frogs to victory when she posted three straight kills to win the opener against Coastal Carolina. With another eight kills against Rice, she played a huge role in the team's success this weekend, especially during some nail-biting moments. Deaton closed out the opening weekend with 26 kills on 68 attacks with only seven errors, good for a .279 attack percentage.
TCU volleyball won its opening tournament for the third straight season and will hit the road this weekend to compete in the Home2 Suites Seminole Invitational at Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla.
