Student-athletes participating in Purple with Purpose will travel to Panama May 14-21. While in Panama, they will volunteer with an NGO to help paint and renovate a school for children located in the remote Darien Province. They will also have a day to interact with TCU alumni living in Panama City before returning to Fort Worth.
TCU Athletics created Purple with Purpose to provide student-athletes a chance to have a global experience. It is nearly impossible for student-athletes to travel and study abroad or participate in an educational exchange program in the same way a traditional students do. TCU Athletics believe this fits with the mission at TCU to educate individuals to think and act as ethical leaders and responsible citizens in the global community.
The student-athletes and staff are utilizing the hashtag #PurpleWithPurpose while in Panama to share their experience.
