
Frogs Win Mission Inn Spring Spectacular

Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. – Led by a second-place finish by sophomore Triston Fisher, the TCU men's golf team won its first tournament of the season, the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular, Sunday in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
The Horned Frogs shot 3-over 291 on Sunday and 11-over 875 for the tournament to lead the 16-team field. They finished 11 shots ahead of second-place Marquette (22-over 886).
Fisher shot even-par 72 on Sunday and a career-best even-par 216 for the tournament. His second-place finish was the highest of any tournament of his career. Fisher was one shot behind tournament champion Peyton White of Ohio at 1-under 215.
Sophomore Stefano Mazzoli, who ended the second round in a tie for second place, finished in a tie for fifth at 4-over 220 after shooting a 6-over 78 on Sunday.
Sophomore Pierre Mazier moved up four places from Saturday to finish tied for eighth at 5-over 221. Sophomore Turner MacLean also finished inside the top 20 after a 1-over 73 to finish tied for 18th at 9-over 225.
Competing as an individual, senior Giulio Castagnara finished tied for 11th at 6-over 222. Sophomore Jason Fitzgerald tied for 18th and matched his career-best score of 9-over 225.
TCU Notables
- Mazzoli's 68 and Fisher's 69 in the second round were the only sub-70 rounds of the tournament.
- Mazzoli's 220 matched his total at the previous tournament, the Bob Sitton Invitational.
- TCU's round two score of 283, was the lowest round of the tournament.
- TCU's round three score of 291 was the lowest round on Sunday.
