
Mazier's Career Best Round Leads Frogs in Hawaii

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii -- Sophomore Pierre Mazier finished tied for 13th place to lead the TCU men's golf team to an 11th place finish at the Ameri Ari Tournament in Waikoloa, Hawaii.
With eight of the nation's top 25 teams competing at the Waikoloa Kings' Course, the Horned Frogs shot 11-under 853, two shots back of seventh place. No. 18 Texas Tech led throughout the tournament to take the title at 44-under 820. TCU finished ahead of one top 25 team, No. 12 Auburn, which placed 13th.
Mazier was 4-under 68 in the final round to finish 8-under 208 for the tournament. Both the round and tournament totals were career bests for the France native. Mazier started the day tied for 26th place after a 3-under 69. It was the second top 20 finish of his career.
TCU Notables
- Sophomore Stefano Mazzoli, shot an even 74 on Saturday to finish tied for 33rd place.
- Senior Chelso Barrett, who had an eagle in each of the first two rounds, had his best round of the tournament on Saturday at 2-under 70 to finish tied for 40th place at 2-under 214.
- Senior Giulio Castagnara finished in a tie for 75th place with a 5-over 221.
