STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Congratulations to men's golfer Stefano Mazzoli and women's cross country runner Brenley Goertzen on being selected TCU's Athletes of the Week!

Mazzoli, a junior from Montorfano, Italy, tied for 18th at the Nike Collegiate Invitational with a 4-under 209 that included two sub-70 rounds. The Nike Collegiate Invitational, held in North Plains, Ore., is known as one of the toughest tournaments in the country. This year's field included all four national semifinalists from last season.

Goertzen made her season debut at the Texas A&M Invitational, where she finished second and was named Big 12 Runner of the Week. She continued her success at Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational, where she was third among Big 12 runners and 20th overall. A junior from Woodbury, Minn., Goertzen finished over 15 seconds faster than her previous personal-best in the 5,000 meters.
ON THE DOCKET
In addition to football hosting West Virginia Saturday at 2:30 p.m., volleyball is home Sunday at 2 p.m. versus Texas. If you can't make it or aren't in town, the match will be televised on ESPN2.

Soccer is at Texas Friday at 7 p.m. on Longhorn Network. We also have cross country, equestrian, rifle, swimming and diving and women's tennis on the road across the country this weekend.
NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last Edition's Answer: The classic baseball movie Major League was referring to the Indians with the line, "Here in Cleveland? I didn't know they still had a team!"

This Edition's Quote: "How would you characterize 'The Great Gatsby?' He was... uh... great!"
COMPLIANCE CORNER
Ocean State University (OSU) recently renovated its equipment room. While doing so, they pulled out all pieces of equipment that could no longer be used. As a way to give back to the community, OSU would like to donate these items to a recreation center that runs programs for underprivileged kids ages 5-18. Is this permissible?
Yes with conditions. NCAA Bylaw 13.15.1.6.1 states that a member institution may not provide athletics equipment to a high school. However, a member institution is permitted to provide athletics equipment to bona fide youth organizations (e.g., the YMCA, YWCA, Boy Scout troops, Girl Scout troops, a summer recreation league) that may consist of some prospective student-athletes, provided the issuance of equipment is in accordance with the institution's regular policy regarding the discarding of equipment.
