
Rifle Rolls To Win At Murry State

Oct. 23, 2017 MURRAY, Ky. – For the third time in four matches this season, the TCU women's rifle team reached the score plateau over 4,720. The Horned Frogs fired a team score of 4,726, tied for the third-highest mark in program history.
TCU dominated the smallbore field with a score of 2,349, a mark that ties for the second-highest in the program. In air rifle, TCU fired a 2,377, a score that is tied for ninth all-time.
Mindy Miles and Rachel Garner paced the field in both disciplines. Miles fired a match-high 597 in air rifle and added a 590 in smallbore for a match-best 1,187 aggregate score. Garner led the field with a season-high 591 in smallbore. She added a 592 in air rifle for a season-high 1,183 aggregate score.
Ariana Grabowski contributed with a season-high tying 585 in smallbore, while Elizabeth Marsh shot a 583 to account for the team score. Not factoring in the team score, but tying her career high in the discipline was Barrett Ray who shot a 582.
All five shooters designated as counters in air rifle fired scores of 592 or better. Grabowski fired a career-high 592, while Lutz matched her career high with a 596. Rounding out the shooters was Marsh with a 592. While not factoring in the team score, Rachel Kimbell tied her career high with a 586.
Grabowski rounded out her day with a career-high 1,177 aggregate score.
Murray State finished second in the triangular meet, firing a 4,704. Jacksonville State rounded out the field with a team score of 4,639.
TCU returns to the shooting range on Oct. 28 when it hosts Nebraska and Memphis at the TCU Rifle Range.
