TOWN HALL MEETING RECAP
It was great to see many of you Tuesday night at our annual Town Hall Meeting. If you couldn't make it, we hope you were able to catch the live stream on our website. You can CLICK HERE to watch a replay and HERE to see the PowerPoint presentation.

THANK YOU TCU STUDENTS!
As Jamie Dixon mentioned in his postgame press conference Saturday night, we can't thank the TCU student body enough for its incredible turnout and support at the Baylor game. We had over 1,400 students in attendance with more who wanted in. Unfortunately, we were above capacity and couldn't accommodate everyone. We apologize for that and will continue to work on ways to get as many students into the building as possible. We truly appreciate the tremendous home-court atmosphere provided. It was clear to those watching on TV and noted prominently in coverage by media at the game.

TIME DEMANDS
As you might have seen, legislation was recently passed in regards to additional time off for student-athletes. Enhancing the student-athlete experience is always a priority for us. We are extremely supportive of the action at the Autonomy Governance session, allowing our student-athletes additional time off to pursue their interests away from competition. These changes help us achieve our goal of student-athletes excelling academically, socially and athletically on campus.

We have baseball season tickets being shipped this week. Also, be on the lookout for football renewal information the first week of February.

ON THE DOCKET
Men's basketball hosts Auburn Saturday at 5 p.m. in the Big 12/SEC Challenge. We're 3-0 in that annual series with wins the last three seasons over Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Tennessee. The first 500 students at Saturday's Auburn game will receive a free TCU bucket hat.

Please mark your calendar for the following Saturday, Feb. 4, and our Retro Rewind game versus Texas. The tip is at noon, and we'll be retiring TCU legend Kurt Thomas' jersey at halftime. We'll also be wearing special throwback uniforms.
Equestrian begins its spring season Thursday and will take on Baylor at 6:30 p.m. at the Fort Worth Stock Show. The competition with the Bears will actually begin earlier in the day in Springtown before moving to the John Justin Arena in the evening.

Swimming and diving welcomes North Texas to the Rec Center Friday at 6 p.m., while our men's tennis program hosts the ITA Kickoff Weekend. Matches begin Saturday at 1 p.m. when we face Pacific. Women's tennis will travel to Stillwater for its ITA Kickoff Weekend. Track and field resumes its indoor season this weekend in Albuquerque at the New Mexico Invitational. Women's basketball has a noon tip Saturday at Iowa State.
NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last Edition's Answer: Renee Zellweger asked Jim Carrey as Charlie/Hank in Me, Myself & Irene, "Did you just refer to yourself in the fourth person?"

This Week's Question: "By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?"
COMPLIANCE CORNER
The Ocean State University (OSU) women's tennis team utilizes a volunteer coach throughout the spring championship season. This year, however, the volunteer coach is unable to give as much time to the program as he has in past years. The head coach would like to use a second volunteer coach to work with the student-athletes when the first volunteer coach is not available.
Is this permissible as long as the two volunteer coaches are not performing coaching duties at the same time?
No. NCAA Staff Interpretation - 5/13/92 - Alternating different individuals during academic year as volunteer coach - indicates that in situations where an institution wishes to utilize more than one individual in the capacity of volunteer coach during the academic year, noting that at no time will more than one individual be serving as volunteer coach; confirmed that this arrangement would not be permissible, inasmuch as an individual designated in a coaching category would assume that position for the duration of the academic year unless the coach was temporarily replaced due to extenuating circumstances per NCAA Bylaw 11.7.1.1.1.2 or through normal attrition.
