TCU Student-Athletes Make Backpack Donation

The TCU Athletics Back to School Project saw student-athletes donate their new and lightly-used backpacks for the purpose of encouraging and engaging kids in the local community. The student-athletes had a strong desire to work with Como Elementary, given its proximity and need.
Freshman student-athletes in the Horned Frog Academy wrote personalized letters to the students at Como Elementary. The Gary Patterson Foundation and Albertsons then donated school supplies for over 500 students.
TCU's Academic-Athletics Services Office prepped over 500 TCU string bags full of school supplies. On Aug. 22, the first day of school, TCU football student-athletes Josh Carraway, John Diarse, Deanté Gray and Kenny Iloka surprised the students by handing out backpacks and supplies during class.
