Baker, a native of Louisville, Ky., won the 60-meter dash in record fashion at the Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championship last week. The senior finished the race in a school-record 6.51 seconds. His time is a Big 12 record, No. 1 in the nation and tied for the eighth-fastest in NCAA history. Internationally, his time shares the No. 2 spot with former TCU great Kim Collins.
Next, the nine-time All-American will defend his 60 meters title on March 11 at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship in Birmingham, Ala.
McGhee, a native of Omaha, Neb., closed out the indoor season in the same way she started - by breaking the school record. At the conference championship, McGhee ran an 8.14 in the 60-meter hurdle prelims, taking first in her heat. Her time shattered her previous best and school record time by .12 seconds. McGhee went on to take runner-up honors in the finals with a time of 8.15. She currently holds the ninth-fastest time in the nation.
McGhee will also be competing at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship next week, joining Baker and senior Sam Watts.
