MANSFIELD, Texas -- The TCU men's and women's swimming and diving teams wrapped up day two of the Art Adamson Invitational in Mansfield on Friday with three Horned Frogs competing in the "A" finals.
Through the first 24 events, the men's squad is in fourth, while the women's squad sits in sixth heading into the last day.
Junior Jakub Swierczynski posted an NCAA "B" cut time of 55.14 in the 100 breaststroke, ranking him fourth on TCU's all-time list. Swierczynski went on to place seventh in the finals at 55.33.
Sophomore Carlos Hunnicutt, who holds the school record in the 400 IM, placed seventh in the "A" finals behind a time of 3:58.23. Sophomore Ally Robertson represented TCU in the 400 IM as she took home seventh at 4:22.44. Freshman Elise Forzley posted the top time in the "B" finals at 4:21.99.
In the 200 medley relay finals, Jake Powell, Swierczynski, John Smith and Garrett Hills took home seventh with a time of 1:30.03.
Freshman Radu Duican led the way for the Horned Frogs in the 200-yard freestyle as he topped the "B" finals with a time of 1:38.70.
In the 100 breaststroke, junior Devin Newton placed 15th overall behind a finals time of 1:03.66.
Sophomore Ruby Powell and Forzley recorded the top times for TCU in the 100 back as they clocked in at 56.21 and 57.14, respectively.
The Frogs rounded out the night in the 800 free relay. Duican, sophomore Ross Sullivan, Hunnicutt and sophomore Jack McLaughlin placed fifth with a finals time of 6:41.11. The women's freshman quartet of Claire Munster, Taylor Newton, Hannah Burt and Nicqueline Rettberg took home 10th at 7:32.29.
Both teams will return to the Mansfield Natatorium for the final day of the Art Adamson Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 19.
