FORT WORTH, Texas -- The men's swimming and diving team jumped into the CollegeSwimming.com rankings after their performance against SMU on Wednesday.
The Horned Frogs find themselves ranked 32nd in the nation early in the season. Their most recent placement in the NCAA D1 rankings marks the best position for TCU since they were No. 22 in 2014.
The men's squad is 1-1 so far this season. They opened the year with a victory over UT-Permian Basin before falling to crosstown rival SMU.
The Frogs had a productive night against the Mustangs, taking home first place in the 500 free and 400 free relay. Junior Carlos Hunnicutt led the effort, producing the Frogs' first win of the evening with a first-place finish in the 500 free with a time of 4:36.83. Hunnicutt also logged second in both the 200 fly at 1:51.46 and the 200 IM at 1:54.06.
The men's team will return to action on Nov. 17 for the Mansfield Invitational.
