Tied 3-3 in the match, Lopez earned his first dual victory as a Horned Frog and sealed the 4-3 win for the TCU men's tennis team over Oklahoma State in the Championship Match of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend on Sunday afternoon.
The Frogs (2-0) earned their second straight berth to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Charlottesville, Va., from Feb. 12-15, with the victory over the Cowboys (4-1). Up next, TCU will head to Austin, Texas for two neutral site meetings with Stanford and Cal on Feb. 6 and Feb. 7, respectively.
Alix, who scored all of her points in the second half, had a career-high 26 points against West Virginia on Sunday. The guard from Houston, Texas also added eight assists and five rebounds for TCU.
The Frogs return to the court on Wednesday for the start of a three-game road swing at Iowa State, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma. Wednesday's conference matchup will begin at Iowa State at 7:00 p.m. CT.
