Jan. 15, 2016 GREETINGS FROM SAN ANTONIO
The NCAA Convention has brought me back to a city where some great memories took place at the Valero Alamo Bowl! As I'm sure you've seen from its extensive media coverage, the Big 12 Conference received great news Wednesday with the Division I Council approving a proposal that allows FBS conferences without 12 members to hold conference championship football games. It does not mean we'll automatically have a title game next season or in the future. It instead provides us with the option should we choose to do so.
TOWN HALL MEETING SET
We hope to see you Tuesday at 6 p.m. for our Town Hall Meeting in the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena. We'll cover any topics that are on your mind. Please CLICK HERE if you'd like to submit questions in advance. If you can't make the Town Hall Meeting, a stream will be available on our website (www.GoFrogs.com).

BAG POLICY
As a reminder, we have instituted a clear bag policy for all our home athletics events. With our next home game being Monday's 6 p.m. men's basketball contest versus Texas Tech in the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena, please see below for a list of permitted items:
•Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and not exceeding 14 inches by 14 inches
•One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
•One unopened bottle of water
•Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the arena with one of the clear plastic bags
•Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at the arena gates
Backpacks, diaper bags and other similar bags will not be allowed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.
#REMEMBERTHECOMEBACK
We appreciate the great feedback we received on our football highlight videos throughout the season. Most recently, we had a recap of the win versus Oregon in the Valero Alamo Bowl and our season highlight video. A Horned Frogs' tip of the cap to Clayton Regian, our marketing office's video coordinator, for his excellent work on these pieces.

The video recapping the epic comeback over Oregon reached a total of over 4 million and generated nearly a million views (989,000) across our social media platforms. It was also shared nearly 18,000 times.
HORNED FROGS ARE HOT
The facts show that it's cool to wear TCU apparel! Compared to the same period last year, our licensing revenues are up 56 percent from July 1 to Dec. 31, 2015.
BASEBALL TICKETS ANYONE?
Our season ticket renewal deadline for baseball was last Friday. We appreciate all of you who renewed. Our Ticket Office is now calling the few accounts that did not renew. Anything left after that will go on sale, along with the new General Admission season ticket, on Monday, Jan. 25. Single-game tickets for baseball will be available Monday, Feb. 15.

NO. 7
Congratulations to head coach Gary Patterson, his staff and our football student-athletes on finishing this season with a No. 7 ranking in the Associated Press and Amway USA Today Coaches polls. It's our fifth top-10 final ranking in the last eight seasons. For a second straight year, we were the top-ranked team in the state of Texas.

ON THE DOCKET
We have a full slate of Horned Frogs in action over the weekend. Both our basketball programs will be on the road Saturday with the men at Kansas at 1 p.m. and the women at Kansas State at 7 p.m. The men return home Monday to host Texas Tech at 6 p.m.

Swimming and diving will have its Senior Day Saturday when it hosts West Virginia at noon, while track and field will be at the Texas A&M Invitational. Rifle hosts Ohio State Sunday. Our tennis programs open their spring seasons with road tournaments. The men will be in Fort Myers, Fla., with the women competing in Evanston, Ill.

COMPLIANCE CORNER
Beginning with the Fall 2016 term, which of the following is true for academic redshirts?
A. Those individuals are permitted to compete during their initial academic year in residence
B. Those individuals are permitted to practice during their initial academic year in residence
C. Those individuals are permitted to practice during the first term of their initial year in residence and must earn 9 semester/8 quarter hours to be eligible for subsequent terms during the initial academic year in residence
D. Both A and B
The answer is C. NCAA Bylaw 14.3.1.2 states that an academic redshirt may receive institutional athletically related financial aid but may not compete during the first academic year in residence. An academic redshirt may practice only on campus or at the institution's regular practice facility during the first regular academic term in residence. An academic redshirt must successfully complete nine semester or eight quarter hours of academic credit in each applicable regular academic term in order to be eligible for practice in the immediately subsequent term of the first academic year (see Bylaw 14.4.2.1). An academic redshirt is defined as one who is a high school graduate and who presented the same academic qualifications applicable to qualifiers (see Bylaw 14.3.1.1) except for the following:
(a) The required minimum cumulative grade-point average and minimum combined score on the SAT critical reading and math sections or a minimum sum score on the ACT as specified in Bylaw 14.3.1.2.1; (b) Bylaw 14.3.1.1-(c) shall not apply.
NCAA Bylaw 14.4.2.1 states that an academic redshirt must successfully complete nine semester or eight quarter hours of academic credit during each applicable regular academic term of his or her initial year of residence in order to be eligible for practice in the immediately subsequent term of his or her initial year in residence.
