ED AND RAE SCHOLLMAIER ARENA
We were incredibly proud on Thursday to announce the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena. It's a proper tribute to an incredible couple who have had an unbelievable impact on enhancing the student-athlete experience. With their passion for TCU and our basketball programs, the Schollmaiers truly made it possible for our dream to become a reality!

FROG CLUB SETS NEW RECORD
In case you missed the great news from earlier this week, thank you very much for allowing us to set a new record with $12.1 million in annual scholarship contributions. For a third consecutive year, all student-athlete scholarship costs will be covered through the TCU Frog Club. Overall, $39.2 million was raised in cash giving for the 2015 fiscal year.
SOCCER OPEN HOUSE
Please mark your calendar for Sunday, Aug. 9, when our soccer program hosts an Open House centered around its 5 p.m. intrasquad scrimmage at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. Following the scrimmage, at 6:30 p.m., fans will be treated to numerous interactive games for the kids, free ice cream, an appearance from SuperFrog, a meet and greet with players and coaches as well as a tour of the Jane Justin Field House.

WOMEN'S CLINIC RECAP
It was another sellout and great night at this year's Gary Patterson Women's Football Clinic. Last week's event had over 450 women in attendance and raised $12,000 for Girls Inc. It was a fun night of food, fashion and an inside look into TCU football with player and coach panels.
Gary Patterson RADIO SHOW
One of our favorite traditions during football season is the Thursday night Gary Patterson Radio Show at Railhead Smokehouse. We're very proud to announce, through IMG, a new five-year extension of the popular program on 92.1 FM and KTCU 88.7 FM.
A HOT SUMMER ON THE LINKS
We've had some great representation this summer from past and future men's and women's golfers. Tom Hoge tied for fifth at the PGA Tour's RBC Canadian Open. Tom had two tournament wins and 11 top-10 finishes during his four years (2007-11) with us. On the women's side, incoming freshman Annika Clark won the WTGA State Amateur Championship. We also had a TCU record three Horned Frogs qualify for this year's U.S. Women's Amateur Championship. Congratulations to Emmy Martin, Sabina Pena and Kortnie Maxoutopoulis!

MEET THE FROGS
As a reminder, this year's Meet The Frogs will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Sam Baugh Indoor Practice Facility. It's a great opportunity for pictures and autographs with our football student-athletes and Coach Patterson.
NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last Week's Answer: Matt Dillon, as Carl Peterson in You, Me and Dupree, said to Owen Wilson, "You get your first ten-speed bike, and suddenly you're Lance Armstrong."

This Week: "There is no way that you could have been as bad at hockey as you are at golf."
COMPLIANCE CORNER
Several baseball student-athletes enrolled in summer school at Ocean State University have been participating in voluntary workouts in the weight room. The strength coaches have been present for safety purposes. To help motivate the student-athletes to work hard, the strength coaches would like to create awards for attendance and meeting specific goals. Is this permissible?
No. NCAA Bylaw 17.02.18 state that in order for any athletically-related activity to be considered "voluntary," all of the following conditions must be met: (Adopted: 4/18/01, 4/29/04 effective 8/1/04)
(a.) The student-athlete must not be required to report back to a coach or other athletics department staff member (e.g., strength coach, trainer, manager) any information related to the activity. In addition, no athletics department staff member who observes the activity (e.g., trainer, manager) may report back to the student-athlete's coach any information related to the activity;
(b.) The activity must be initiated and requested solely by the student-athlete. Neither the institution nor any athletics department staff member may require the student-athlete to participate in the activity at any time. However, it is permissible for an athletics department staff member to provide information to student-athletes related to available opportunities for participating in voluntary activities (e.g., times when the strength and conditioning coach will be on duty in the weight room or on the track). In addition, for students who have initiated a request to engage in voluntary activities, the institution or an athletics department staff member may assign specific times for student-athletes to use institutional facilities for such purposes and inform the student-athletes of the time in advance;
(c.) The student-athlete's attendance and participation in the activity (or lack thereof) may not be recorded for the purposes of reporting such information to coaching staff members or other student-athletes; and
(d.) The student-athlete may not be subjected to penalty if he or she elects not to participate in the activity. In addition, neither the institution nor any athletics department staff member may provide recognition or incentives (e.g., awards) to a student-athlete based on his or her attendance or performance in the activity.
