July 16, 2015 FOOTBALL SEASON NEARING
As I'm sure you've seen, the media have picked us as the preseason football favorite in the Big 12. Trevone Boykin was selected as the Offensive Player of the Year and is joined on the Preseason All-Big 12 Team by Josh Doctson, Joey Hunt, Davion Pierson and Halapoulivaati Vaitai.

Big 12 Media Day is Monday in Dallas. You can catch Gary Patterson on a multitude of ESPN platforms on Wednesday, when he heads to the Worldwide Leader in Bristol for his annual visit with the other Big 12 head football coaches.
ON THE AIRWAVES
We're excited to join TCU IMG Sports Marketing in announcing a five-year extension with WBAP for all the radio broadcasts of our football games. This allows the Horned Frogs Nation to continue to have the ability to listen to all our games on one of the largest radio networks in Texas. We already have the best talent team in the nation in Brian Estridge, John Denton and Landry Burdine.
CLASSROOM EXCELLENCE
We again have student-athletes being recognized for their efforts in the classroom. Congratulations to Connor Dobbs, Devin Newton, Julia Grace Sanders and Matt Spallas from our swimming and diving program on receiving Scholar All-America honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America!

FACILITIES UPDATE
We continue to make great progress on the renovation of our basketball facility. Make sure to CLICK HERE to see a video of how things are looking inside our new $72 million home. Demo work has started on the upgrades we announced last week at Charles and Marie Lupton Baseball Stadium at Williams-Reilly Field.

NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last Week's Answer: Dan Aykroyd, as auto parts magnate Ray Zalinsky in Tommy Boy, said, "I make car parts for the American working man, because that's what I am, and that's who I care about."

This Week: "Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time."
COMPLIANCE CORNER
Foul Line, a rising senior in high school, would like to take an official visit to Ocean State University's women's basketball team this month. The only available dates for Foul happen to occur during an evaluation period. Is it permissible for Foul to take an official visit during an evaluation period in July?
No. Bylaw 13.6.2.2.2 states that in women's basketball, an institution may not provide an expense-paid visit to a prospective student-athlete during the July evaluation periods (see Bylaw 13.1.5.4.2), unless the prospective student-athlete has signed a National Letter of Intent or the institution's written offer of admission and/or financial aid or the institution has received her financial deposit in response to its offer of admission.
