TCU Announces Scholar-Athletes of the Month

FORT WORTH, Texas - Men's tennis' Facundo Lugones and women's golf's Alexandra Bonetti have been named the TCU Scholar-Athletes of the Month for May for their hard work on and off the field.
Lugones, a senior from Buenos Aires, Argentina, was a perfect during the month of May in both singles (4-0) and doubles (3-0) competition. Teaming up with Nick Chappell, Lugones took down doubles teams from No. 12 Wake Forest (8-4), No. 13 North Carolina (8-7/8-6) and No. 1 Oklahoma (8-7/9-7). He also picked up singles wins in each of those matches as well as against Marist at the start of the month.
Bonetti, the senior from Paris, France, posted the team's best finish at the NCAA Regional in St. George, Utah. Her finish of 13th at 10-over 223 was just shy of clinching a berth to the NCAA Championships. Her final round of 74 included back-to-back birdies on the front nine, totaling three on the day and was her 14th career top-20 finish.
