June 18, 2015 THANKS!
I want to thank the many of you who have continued to call, email and tweet me with congratulations on the NACDA Athletics Director of the Year Award. I am truly honored to serve and work for you as well as sharing this accolade with some incredible colleagues across the country.
OMAHA
On behalf of our baseball program, we are very grateful for the incredible support being shown to our student-athletes in Omaha! It's incredibly rewarding to see the sea of purple in the stands at TD Ameritrade Park. We're well aware of the time and financial commitment it takes for many of you to follow the Horned Frogs to the College World Series. The TCU chants in the stands and seeing the purple being worn proudly here is noticed and appreciated!

A HORNED FROG FRIEND
All of you know TCU senior associate athletics director and chief financial officer Jack Hesselbrock. Thanks to our three trips in the last six years to Omaha and the College World Series, Jack and his son, Alex, have been able to develop a special friendship with the Burson family in nearby Lincoln. Andrew had a brain tumor when he was almost 5, surgery to remove it and a long road back. Pictured below are Jack and Alex with Andrew and his sister, Becca. Andrew's family speaks with pride about how excited he gets for the opportunity to see TCU play. They plan to travel to Manhattan in October when we face Kansas State in football. CLICK HERE to read a great article about their relationship.

FOOTBALL SEASON TICKETS
The momentum for our upcoming football season continues to grow as we have sold out of football season tickets with a new record number of 33,300! This is a tremendous statement by the Horned Frogs Nation, and we can't thank you enough!

ON THE TRACK
Congratulations to our track and field program as it concluded an outstanding season at the NCAA Outdoor Championships! Led by our 4x100 team placing second, the men finished 19th overall. The 4x100 squad of Cameron Echols-Luper, Sam Watts, Ronnie Baker and Kolby LIstenbee recorded the fastest qualifying time in the NCAA this season and ninth in the world with a mark of 38.65 seconds. In the finals, they ran a season-best time of 38.59, but were edged by Arkansas (38.47) to finish second. The quartet cracked into the TCU all-time top 10 at No. 6 as they earned first-team All-America honors while currently ranking No. 8 in the world.

NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last Week's Answer: Will Ferrell as Jackie Moon, player/coach/general manager and all things Flint Tropics in Semi-Pro, said, "Everybody panic! Oh my God, there's a bear loose in the coliseum! There will be no refunds! Your refund will be escaping this deathtrap with your life!"

This Week: "Surely, you can't be serious."
COMPLIANCE CORNER
Ocean State University is providing several student-athletes with athletic aid to attend summer school. Is the institution required to provide these student-athletes with a written grant-in-aid agreement noting the amount, etc.?
No. NCAA Official Interpretation - 7/30/12 - Notification of Summer Financial Aid Award (I) - states that an institution that is providing a financial aid award to a student-athlete for attendance at the institution's summer session is not required to provide the recipient with a written statement of the amount, duration, conditions or terms of the award.
