POSTSEASON BASEBALL
Congrats to our Big 12 champion baseball program on receiving a national seed for the second consecutive season!
We'll begin action in the Fort Worth Regional on Friday at 7 p.m. versus Sacred Heart. NC State and Stony Brook open play on Friday at 2:30 p.m. Let's make sure to show some great TCU and Fort Worth hospitality to our guests from Fairfield, Conn., Raleigh, N.C., and Stony Brook, N.Y.
REGIONAL TICKET INFO
Tickets will initially be sold only as All-Session reserved seat packages. This provides tickets to each game with a maximum of seven possible games. They are currently only available to season-ticket holders and must be purchased by today at 5 p.m.
The All-Session price is $60 each. This is a substantial savings as single-game reserved tickets, if available after expected high demand for All-Sessions, will not be sold until the first game and are $20 each. All seats in Lupton Stadium will be sold as reserved seats, no general admission. Once all reserved seats are sold, standing room only will then be available on the grass hill down the first-base line. These SRO tickets will be $15 each.
If All-Session packages remain, they will be available to the general public Thursday at 8 a.m. Please call (817) 257-3764 or CLICK HERE to purchase your tickets.
ON THE DOCKET
In addition to baseball this weekend, best wishes as well to men's golf and our track and field programs! Men's golf has qualified for the NCAA Championships in Bradenton, Fla. You can catch the action on the Golf Channel. Men's and women's track and field, represented by 13 individuals and two relay teams, will compete in Austin at the NCAA West Preliminaries.
FOOTBALL ROAD GAME TICKETS
Please note the Sunday, May 31, deadline to order your road football game tickets for this coming season. All prices and seats will be in the TCU block we receive from the host school. CLICK HERE to make your purchase.
RANKING WATCH
Our men's and women's tennis programs, after having posted outstanding seasons, were ranked fourth and 17th, respectively, in the final ITA polls. We're one of just 11 schools nationally to have both its men's and women's teams in the top 20.
HORNED FROG OF THE WEEK
Let's hear it for Cameron Norrie! After helping lead us to a Final Four appearance, the New Zealand native capped an incredible freshman season by reaching the Elite Eight in singles play. In the process, he earned All-America status.
ALUMNI UPDATE
Many of you remember Nile Murry as a three-year letterman (2003-06) and standout with our men's basketball program. Nile is still playing in Japan and received Most Valuable Player honors after helping his Hamamatsu Higashimikawa Phoenix to the BJ-League championship.
NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last Week's Answer: Ben Stiller, as a nursing home orderly in Happy Gilmore, said, "Good news, everybody, we're extending arts and crafts time by four hours today."
This Week: "What you grinning at, you ghost?"
COMPLIANCE CORNER
The local Lions Club wants to recognize the Ocean State University men's and women's tennis teams for their community service efforts this year. These Orcas put in over 600 hours collectively this year to help keep the city parks clean. Is it permissible for the Lions Club to provide the student-athletes with a small plaque?
Yes with conditions. NCAA Bylaw 16.1.4.4 states that a local civic organization (e.g., Rotary Club, Touchdown Club) may provide awards to a member institution's team(s), provided such awards are approved by the institution and are counted in the institution's limit for institutional awards.
KEEP IN TOUCH
