COODY CLASSIC THANKS!
An absolutely beautiful day greeted the 196 participants at Monday's TCU Coody & Coaches Classic at Texas Star Golf Club in Euless. It was an historic day as the tournament set a record for revenue with $75,000 raised for scholarships for TCU student-athletes. We also had contestant Mason Green card the first hole-in-one in tournament history, and he did it right in front of 1971 Masters champion Charles Coody! Congratulations to the winning team of Henry Ellis, Brandon Cooper, John Ellis and Tommy Ellis with a score of 13-under-par 58. Thanks to all the players, sponsors, TCU coaches and Charles Coody for making the tournament a success!

TENNIS SWEEP
It was a record-breaking day on Saturday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center! We had over 2,100 fans in attendance as our sixth-ranked men's tennis program posted a 4-1 victory over No. 10 Texas. It was great to see so many of you also supporting our No. 17 women's program as it blanked No. 16 Texas Tech, 4-0, earlier in the day.

HONOR ROLL
Congratulations to women's tennis standout Stefanie Tan on being recognized as the Big 12 Player of the Week! She won her singles and doubles matches in our 4-0 Senior Day victory over Texas Tech. We also had baseball's Connor Wanhanen named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week. The freshman from Flower Mound hit .500 with five RBIs as we won all four of our games. Katelyn Gray was named the Big 12 Equestrian Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the third straight season we've had a Horned Frog receive that honor.

PROMOTIONS SET FOR BASEBALL SERIES WITH TEXAS
Our marketing staff has another fun-filled weekend for you at the ballpark as our No. 5-ranked baseball program hosts Texas in a three-game series. First pitch for Friday's opener is at 6:30 p.m. Starting at 5 p.m., make sure to join the left field tailgate (Lot 13) for live music and free food samples. Saturday's 4 p.m. game is TCU Hat Day. Wear a TCU hat to the game and you can purchase popcorn for $1 at the concession stands.

For Sunday's 1 p.m. series finale, it's Kids' Day. We'll have pre-game inflatables, face painters and a crafts station. Following the game, all kids can run the bases and get autographs with the team. It's also $1 hot dogs on Sunday and National Pretzel Day. We'll have a special on pretzels plus a dipping bar. Additionally, it's Frogs For The Cure. All fans are encouraged to wear pink.
ON THE DOCKET
We have four sports headed to Big 12 Championships. Both our men's and women's tennis programs begin play in Waco on Friday. The men face Oklahoma State at noon, while the women take the court against Texas at 3 p.m. Also on Friday, women's golf begins action at the Big 12 Championship in San Antonio. Men's golf opens play at the conference tourney on Monday in Tulsa. Track and field heads to Gainesville, Fla., to compete Friday at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational.

NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last Week's Answer: The great Robert De Niro, in Meet The Parents, said to future son-in-law Ben Stiller, "I had no idea you could milk a cat."

This Week: "Please get out of my Van Halen T-shirt before you jinx the band and they break up."
COMPLIANCE CORNER
The Ocean State University baseball team has two non-conference makeup games to play due to the severe weather conditions that occurred last month. The team will be participating in its conference tournament next month, which ends the playing season. Can the baseball team play the two makeup games after its playing season is over?
No. NCAA Bylaw 17.1.8 (a) states that an institution is not permitted to extend the playing season to make up suspended or canceled games (including games that determine a conference champion or the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Championship).
