TCU Announces Athletes of the Week

FORT WORTH, Texas - Men's tennis' Guillermo Nuñez and women's tennis' Stefanie Tan have been named TCU's Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week for their recent performances.
Nuñez, a freshman from Santiago, Chile, clinched the match against No. 7 Texas A&M with a 6-3, 6-2 win in singles. Nuñez and his partner, Hudson Blake, dominated in the doubles portion with a 6-1 victory. Nuñez sealed the 4-0 shutout for TCU and currently leads the team with an overall record of 24-5. TCU now has a perfect 12-0 record at home and has posted 13 wins against ranked opponents this season.
Tan, a senior from Bishan, Sigapore, led TCU to a pair of wins over Big 12 foes last weekend. Against Iowa State, Tan and her partner Simona Parajova clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 victory, as well as against West Virginia at 6-1. In singles, she picked up victories against both teams, blanking her West Virginia opponent at 6-0, 6-0. Tan has not lost a match since Feb. 20, 2015 and has won six of her seven matches in straight sets.
It'll be a tennis doubleheader on Saturday, April 18, at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center, as the women's team will take on Texas Tech at 10 a.m., followed by the men against Texas at 1 p.m.
