HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
On behalf of TCU Athletics, I'd like to wish everyone a very safe and happy holiday season!
HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

Even though we do have some basketball action taking place over the holidays, please note that our offices, like the University, is closed through Jan. 4. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
CONGRATULATIONS GRADUATES!
Graduations are my favorite days of the year. Congratulations to our 50 student-athletes who received their degree Saturday in our first official event in the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena. We had 12 sports represented, including four former football student-athletes (Quincy Butler, Drew Coleman, Skye Dawson, Matthew Tucker) who came back to earn their degree after enjoying NFL careers. When we take the field at the Valero Alamo Bowl, we'll have 16 football student-athletes who are already TCU graduates.
GRAND OPENING
We very much enjoyed receiving your positive feedback on the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena after our opening men's and women's basketball doubleheader Sunday. We are indeed very proud of our new basketball home and also know we need to make some adjustments prior to our next home game Monday, when the men host Delaware State at 7 p.m.
HORNED FROGS GIVING BACK
During December, our Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) chose to partner with a local domestic violence shelter and adopt families for the holiday season. Each SAAC representative worked with teammates to raise enough money to fulfill the wish lists for 12 families. This was a true student-athlete driven initiative, and I could not be prouder of the volunteer work completed for the Fort Worth community.
ON THE DOCKET

While you make your holiday plans, that includes traveling to San Antonio for many of you for our Jan. 2 Valero Alamo Bowl against Oregon, please keep in mind we have plenty of basketball on tap for you. Our men, who play Wednesday night at Bradley on ESPN3, host Delaware State Monday at 7 p.m. Our women return to action when they open Big 12 play next Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Texas Tech, before hosting Kansas State a week from Saturday, Jan. 2, at 1 p.m.
NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE

Last Week's Answer: The late Richard Dawson, as Damon Killian in "The Running Man," said, "Well, it is a contact sport, OK?"
This Week's Question: "Pay that man his money."
COMPLIANCE CORNER

The Ocean State University (OSU) women's soccer coaches are finalizing travel options for three official visits planned in January. While the coaches were collecting all the required paperwork for hosting the visits, they noticed that all three prospects took the ACT Aspire test. This test replaced the ACT Plan test last year. The legislation requires a prospect to present a score taken from a PSAT, SAT, PLAN or ACT. Since ACT Aspire is not on the list, can OSU use those scores to satisfy the requirement?
Yes, through the use of an NCAA approved blanket waiver. NCAA Division I member institutions may use the ACT Aspire test to satisfy the official visit exam requirements through Aug. 1, 2017. In granting this request, the NCAA Division I Committee for Legislative Relief noted:
1. Current official visit legislation specifies a prospective student-athlete must present the institution with a score from the PSAT, SAT, PLAN or ACT taken on a national testing date under national testing conditions;
2. The ACT Aspire test replaced the ACT PLAN test, effective June 13, 2014; and
3. The NCAA Division I Committee on Academics Subcommittee on Student-Athlete Academics and the NCAA Division I Committee on Academics reviewed the official visit legislation related to the ACT Aspire test and recommended that relief should be provided to allow the use of the ACT Aspire test for official visit purposes, expiring August 1, 2017.
