On the season, Bradley, who started four freshmen against Boise State, has been carried by Donte Thomas who is tallying 10 points and 5.7 rebounds a game. Lautier-Ogunleye is also in double-figures, averaging 10.0 points a contest and 2.7 assists.
The Series
TCU and Bradley will battle for only the 10th time in program history Wednesday night. The Braves lead the all-time series, 5-4, but the Horned Frogs have won three-straight, including a 57-49 decision a year ago at the Corpus Christi Coastal Classic.
A Closer Look
With Chris Washburn and Kenrich Williams out because of injury, TCU has only four active players who saw action a year ago versus Bradley. In all, Brandon Parrish, Karviar Shepherd, Chauncey Collins and Michael Williams all faced the Braves in Corpus Christi, with the quartet totaling a combined total of nine points and five rebounds.
A Dynamic Duo
Against Abilene Christian, sophomore newcomers Malique Trent and Vladimir Brodziansky combined to score 43 of TCU's 80 points. In all, the duo equaled 54 percent of the Purple and White's total number of points versus ACU. The duo also dished out five of the Horned Frogs' 16 assists against the Wildcats. Since the start of the month, Trent and Brodziansky have scored 147 of TCU's 366 points in December.
The Opening Act
Sunday's game against ACU marked the first game inside Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena. Previously known as Daniel-Meyer Coliseum, the facility underwent a $72 million renovation. The first basket in a live game was scored by sophomore Vladimir Brodziansky, while Karviar Shepherd dished out the first assist. TCU opened the game, making nine of its first 10 attempts from the field.
Comparing The Two
A trend has become apparent in TCU's 10 games this season. In the six wins, the Horned Frogs have gotten to the line 176 times, while shooting 72 percent from the charity stripe. In the four losses, TCU has only attempted 81 free throws, connecting on 64 percent of them. The Purple and White have also shared the rock better in the six wins, tallying 54 more assists in games won.
Mr. Perfection
Against Prairie View A&M, Vladimir Brodziansky had quite the outing, going a perfect 7-for-7 from the field en route to a 16-point showing. He followed that up with a 19-point performance against ACU. The sophomore ranks No. 2 in the Big 12 Conference and No. 17 in the NCAA in field goal percentage.
Passing The Rock
Malique Trent has carried TCU the last five games, dishing out five or more assists in three out of the last five. In the last five alone, Trent, who totaled four assists versus ACU, is averaging 5.2 assists per game.
Rewind to last season and Trent is right around the pace set by former all-conference honoree Kyan Anderson who had totaled 4.1 assists after nine games. Trent is averaging 3.7 on the year heading into game No. 11.
Grab The Rock
TCU is a perfect 6-0 this season when out-rebounding its opponent. The Frogs are 33-15 all-time under Trent Johnson when out-rebounding the opposition. TCU out-rebounded ACU in its last home outing, 33-32.
Starting Strong
In the first 10 games of the season, TCU has combined to outscore its opponent 85-46 in the first 4 minutes of the game. During that stretch, the Horned Frogs have held the opposition to a 19-for-59 showing from the field.
